This public day use area has a boat launch ramp and parking. The area has a gradual walk to the water with good locations for shoreline fishing. It is a good place to have a bring a blanket picnic, swim, or fish along the lake shore. This is the northern gateway to the Hand Cove/Jordan Area beaches and Sand Island.

This park on the southeast end of Norfork Lake has a boat launch with courtesy dock, a swim beach, picnic areas, group shelter. Campsites are in an area shaded by towering pines. Several sites are on the bluff overlooking Norfork Lake. The park has flush toilets & drinking water. This is the southern gateway to the Jordan/Hand Cove area beaches.

Norfork is one of four multiple-purpose projects constructed in the upper White River Basin for control of floods and generation of hydroelectric power. The project also offers excellent recreational opportunities. Construction of the dam was initiated in the spring of 1941 and was completed three years later.

David's Trail honors and remembers the contributions David Floyd made to his community. Partially completed, it will be a 50+ mile network of multiple-purpose trails located on 100% public lands surrounding Norfork Lake and designed to encourage an active lifestyle for all ages and abilities. The trailhead is located in Panther Bay Park.

Dry Run Creek trout fishery is a very special place in the Ozarks set aside for and accessible to those under the age of 16 and disabled anglers. Adjacent to the National Trout Hatchery, only artificial lures are permitted at Dry Run Creek. The area is a catch and release fishery. All trout must be immediately returned to the creek.

The trail heads of this 13 mile trail are located at Upper Quarry Park, George's Cove, and Tracy Recreation Area. It is rated a "Moderate" trail and is designed for foot traffic only. The trail takes hikers along the shoreline of Norfork Lake and sites typical of the Ozark Plateau. Caution is advised near the bluffs of the trail. No services.

The Gaston Visitor Center is an environmental education learning center and features interpretation of the river, dam and lake, and their histories. State-of-the-art interpretive exhibits are in the lobby, along with a gift shop, and Johnboat Theater and Exhibit Hall, a 1,720-square-foot area filled with images of the river, lake and dam.

This popular, minimally developed beach area on the northern part of Norfork Lake has a boat launch ramp, parking area, sand beach, primitive camping and shoreline fishing. Calamity Beach is a good place to spread a blanket on the beach.

Nestled deep in the Ozarks, next to the North Fork River and Norfork Lake Dam, is the Norfork Hatchery. Completed in 1957 by the US Fish & Wildlife Service, the Norfork National Fish Hatchery raises & stock over 2 million rainbow, cutthroat and brown trout annually. The Norfork National Fish Hatchery is open all year to visitors.

The average hiking time is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Caution is advised near the bluffs of the trail. In season services are located in the park.

Pigeon Creek, north of Mountain Home on Norfork Lake, is a National Recreation Trail maintained by the Twin Lakes Bicycle Club that includes miles of mountain biking trails. Just a few minutes north of Mountain Home, The Pigeon Creek National Trail System offers up to 20 miles of stacked loop trails open for mountain biking and hiking.

This day use area has about 10 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails with trail heads and parking areas on both sides of Highway 201. The trails range from beginner to moderate and provide access to scenic and remote areas of Norfork Lake. The boat launch with courtesy dock. Picnic tables are available.
